Please follow the steps below to create your personal Scratch account:
1). Go to https://scratch.mit.edu/.
2). On the main page, click on ‘Join Scratch’ in the upper-right hand corner.
3). A window will pop up on your screen that asks you to fill out some information for your Scratch account.
4). In the field ‘Choose a Scratch username’ enter in a username that you will use for Scratch. Scratch will also tell you if that username has already been taken.
- In the next field, create a password for your Scratch username.
- In the next field, ‘Confirm Password’, retype the password you created. Then click ‘Next’
Please note that in the image below the username, luvsteam803 was used as an example. You should create a unique username for yourself. We suggest writing the username down for future use.
5). On the next screen, it will prompt you to fill out some basic information. Go ahead and fill out respective fields; ‘Birth Month and Year’, ‘Gender’ and ‘Country’. Once that information has been filled in go ahead and click on ‘Next’.
6). Scratch accounts require an email to create. Enter in the email address you would like to associate with your Scratch account in the provided field. Then click ‘Next’. You can also check the box if you wish to receive Scratch updates.
Please note that in the image below the email, email@example.com, was used as an example.
7). Now you need to confirm your email address with Scratch. Once you have created your account you should have received an email from Scratch. In the email it will prompt you to click on a link to confirm your email address. Please note: this email might go into your spam/junk folder.
